Before personalizing ChatGPT, the assistant operates with a general tone and approach suitable for all users. Without customization, responses are neutral and broadly applicable.

As seen in image, ChatGPT provides responses in a standard format without any personalized touch. However, by adjusting the customization settings, users can shape ChatGPT's responses to better suit their needs.

To customize ChatGPT, start by opening the settings menu. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner and select Customize ChatGPT as shown in image below.

This will open the customization panel where various personalization options are available.

Once inside the customization panel, you will be prompted to fill out a form with several key fields to shape ChatGPT’s responses.

Here’s a breakdown of the key fields:

What should ChatGPT call you? – Enter your preferred name so ChatGPT can address you personally.

What do you do? – Describe your profession or interests to help ChatGPT tailor responses to your field.

What traits should ChatGPT have? – Specify how ChatGPT should respond. Options include Chatty, Witty, Encouraging, Straight-shooting, and more.

Anything else ChatGPT should know about you? – Additional information about your interests, values, or key preferences.

After filling in the required details, click Save to apply the changes. Now, ChatGPT will remember your preferences and adapt its responses accordingly.

As an example, a user has set their name to "King" and defined their role and preferred interaction style.

After personalization is enabled, let's try the same command as before.
